HMRC have kindly reminded employers and students that there are steps which can be taken to ensure tax isn’t deducted where it need not be.
If you, or somebody you employ will be earning less than £7,475pa then you won’t need to pay tax on your salary; can submit form P38(S) to HMRC to allow this to happen.
If this comes too late for you then you can always reclaim any tax paid by sending HMRC a form P50.
